Blemish Prone Skin

Skin outbreaks are caused by several different factors and can occur at any age. Glands that produce oil in the skin are sensitive to changes in hormones. Hormonal changes can lead to an overproduction of oil (sebum) that lubricates and waterproofs the skin, as well as inflammation in the skin because the skin is trying to protect itself. This creates the perfect environment for bacteria and yeast to grow, causing infection. This infection is what we see when acne lesions arise.
